The retiring RAF Halton Colour was laid up in St Michael and All Angels Church on the 16th July 2017 in a short ceremony at the end of evensong.
The objective was to lay the old colour up in a working church. Given the long association between RAF Halton and the local community it was decided to lodge it in the local parish church. Thus joining the existing colour there and reinforcing the RAF heritage both inside the church with the colours and outside with the Commonwealth and Service War graves. The ceremony was very simple and moving and much appreciated by the congregation. This reinforces the connection between RAF Halton and the local community, and adds to our village heritage.
